In my wanderings through the Internet I came across with this post and I was filled with happy memories. Although I was more a LEGO's girl, I also had a dolls phase, a toy cars phase, ... but I remember that I always liked to play with paper dolls. The carefully cut of the doll and the dresses, the different combinations we could do with the costumes, ... And like Anto, I kept the clothes in metal boxes which - at the time - were usually used as cases for pencils and pens.

I was determined to find the paper dolls with I played in the early 80's. And then I opened Pandora's box and immersed in a world where I still haven't found any identical doll to the ones I remember, but - in return - I found dolls for all tastes: vintage children with little red cheeks, stylish young women from all decades of the 20th century, the glamorous and mythical Hollywood movie stars and even dolls "dressed" by famous contemporary fashion designers. I also found Japanese girls with "front and back": a novelty for me. As I recall there were dolls that had a base and remained standing, but I don't remember the possibility of dressing both sides of the doll.

Somewhere in my searches I found an articulated paper doll and I was taken by a new wave of memories; "it's true, I also had paper dolls like this!!!", which had to be gently stuck in the joints and attached with brass fasteners and were extremely flexible... And now we can even order articulated paper dolls inspired in us!

If you also want to lose yourself in this world, just go to pinterest and search for "Paper Dolls" in any language you know. I now go to start preparing paper dolls kits for my goddaughter, although I have to wait a few years for her to find these things funny. On second thought, I will advance work and start cut them ... and maybe it's better see if the dresses hold well on the dolls ... and ...
